Celebrating Our Past
By President Irene Clum
As we celebrate the 250th anniversary of The United States this year, our thoughts turn to the history of our county. We have an interesting variety of speakers and programs lined up to explore this area.
Our field trip this year will be to Olana State Historic Site. We will visit the gardens and learn a little bit about their history and restoration.
We have speakers on the history of our local 1767 Parsonage, and the ancient forests and land use in our area. There is also a program on growing and eating history.
Getting back to our gardening roots, a visitor will teach us about garden tools, hints, upgrades, and adaptations. And we will again have a decoration workshop in November.
Add in the bird walk, plant sale, annual luncheon, flower show and holiday marketplace and you can see we have a full calendar for the year!
Happy Gardening!
